MX League of Mourning; Armando Romero, former Cruz Azul football player, has passed away

He Mexican football was covered in mourning on December 24 when the death of Armando Romero, a former soccer player who appeared in The Cruz Azul Machine, played with the cement team for ten seasons from 1980 to 1990.

Raúl Sarmiento, former journalist from sports on television, posted the news on his social networks this morning, expressing regret at the departure of this former Mexican player, who had also made a career as a technical assistant in the second division of Mexican football.

“How sad it is to know that a good friend is leaving, RIP, policyholder with greats of the machine that have been claimed on the road,” Sarmiento published.

Romero Manriquez was born in Mexico City on October 27, 1960. He made his debut as a football player in

the Red Sharks of Veracruz, who move to Cruz Azul, a team where he played continuously for ten years;

to later join Toluca, Correcaminos, Atlético Morelia and Club Zacatepec, a team he retired with in 1996.

As a technical assistant, Romero Manríquez made his debut with the iconic Colibríes de Morelos team in 2003 and was also part of the Cruz Azul Oaxaca, Celaya, Cruz Azul Hidalgo and Leopardos FC team, his last team in 2016.
