Rush Limbaugh thanked his listeners for their support when he talked about his battle with terminal cancer on his last radio show of the year.
“I wasn’t expected to be alive today,” said the conservative radio icon. “I wasn’t expected to make it through October, then November, and then December. And yet, here I am, and today I have some problems, but I feel pretty good today. ‘
“My point in all of this today is gratitude,” said Limbaugh of the abundance of support he felt. “My point in all of this is to thank and tell everyone involved how much I love you from the bottom of a massive and growing and still beating heart.”
Limbaugh also thanked his wife Kathryn Adams for her support during his fight. The radio host has been married to Kathryn, his fourth wife, since 2010.
“So many people put me first,” added Limbaugh, referring to Lou Gehrig, who famously referred to himself as “the happiest man” in his battle with ALS.

Limbaugh announced his cancer diagnosis in February after hearing about it in January.
Limbaugh was diagnosed with stage IV advanced lung cancer and said in October that treatments had stopped working, meaning he would die.
But despite his health concerns, he has continued to host his radio show, which has been in the national syndication since 1988. He missed several shows for treatment in October.
On his last show of 2020, he added, “ I can’t be self-centered about it when that’s the tendency when you’re told you have a due date.
You have an expiration date. A lot of people never get to hear that, so they don’t see life like this. ‘
Limbaugh has been battling stage IV lung cancer since January and announced it in February. He is depicted in the State of the Union speech in February, where he was recognized by President Trump

Limbaugh, 69, has not revealed how much time he expects to have.
In May, he said he was in the third stage of his lung cancer treatment and it “kicked his a **.” At the time, he said his energy was so depleted that he couldn’t walk five steps without ‘stopping and sitting down’.
And in October, he said he can no longer deny that he is under a ‘death sentence’ and that his cancer is showing signs of progression.
Limbaugh has been one of President Trump’s most ardent supporters.
The day after he revealed he had cancer, Trump invited him as a guest to his State of the Union – where he awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
In October, Limbaugh hosted a virtual meeting with Trump while the president was recovering from the coronavirus.

But earlier this month, he said that Trump supporters seeking to undo the election results look like “ lunatics, ” as he urged the president to launch, over time, a highly organized and efficient campaign to provide evidence of are allegations of voter fraud.
“As a conservative, it’s getting harder not to look like an idiot,” he told his listeners.
Days later, he predicted that some states would soon break away from the rest of the US and declare themselves independent, creating the same conditions that led to the American Civil War.
He said, ‘I actually think – and I’ve referred to this, I’ve alluded to this a few times because I’ve seen others refer to this – I actually think we tend towards separation.
‘I see more and more people asking: what on earth do we have in common with the people who live in New York, for example? What is it that makes us believe there are enough of us to even stand a chance of winning New York? Especially when it comes to voting. ‘
Limbaugh has received a slew of awards over his decades-long career.
He is a five-time winner of the National Association of Broadcasters’ Marconi Award for ‘Excellence in Syndicated and Network Broadcasting’, he is also a New York Times best-selling first place author and a member of the Radio Hall of Fame and National Association of Broadcasters of Fame.
