John Mulaney’s strange ‘Late Night’ rehab clip was a cause for concern

Fears of comic John Mulaney’s sobriety and mental health began after he made a bizarre appearance on Seth Meyers’ show, wearing dark glasses and calling Prince Harry a “dumb ginger” and Meghan Markle a “silly goose.”

In the ‘Late Night’ clip, which was posted to YouTube on November 24, Mulaney – whose Page Six exclusively revealed that he has checked into a cocaine and alcohol addiction rehab clinic – presents a fake segment ‘Royal Watch: News from the Real-Life ‘Crown’ and jokes that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were annoyed by COVID for taking all media attention away from their Megxit ‘stunt’.

Mulaney – wearing a creased, oversized coat and sunglasses – said Harry was “the real fool of this fairytale … You stupid ginger, don’t leave your title because you don’t like your 94-year-old grandmother.”

That’s the definition of something you’re waiting for, gangsta. I’m pretty sure that father-time will solve the case of the very old disappointing woman who still had 30 months to live, ”Mulaney said before adding,“ Ah, too mean. ”

After Meyers brought up Princess Diana’s death, Mulaney – who eventually took off his sunglasses to reveal dark, fuzzy eyes – of Meghan: “You know, it’s weird that Meghan and Harry left?

“You thought it would be fun rolling with those suckers in church clothes? Were you told it was non-stop laughing? Because you think of ‘The Munsters’, you silly goose. “

The 38-year-old continued, “Just the fact that she wanted to leave the royal family because they thought ‘be decent and sit still’ … So don’t marry in the family with the most boring people ever and then say, ‘Oh, will we Never Have I Ever play? ‘

Mulaney also adds of himself, “Yes, I am simple and difficult,” before Meyers is forced to describe to him how the Google News algorithm works.

At the end of Mulaney’s long-winded speech, punctuated by long pauses, Meyers – who had previously asked him to ‘start over’ and inexplicably asked him to spell the word ‘sheriff’, ‘I love having you here, but in the future if you just want to discuss things like this a phone call might be better … We’ll see what we can use from this, but it can only be online. ”

Mulaney added, “The next ‘Royal Watch’ will be a little more focused … Thank you Seth, and as a student reporter once wrote of me, ‘Thanks for the laugh, albeit virtually.”

A viewer on Twitter said of the clip After Page Six revealed that Mulaney had gone to a rehab in Pennsylvania for 90 days, “If you’ve been watching @sethmeyers lately, you should know something was up.”

Another wrote, “Three weeks ago, I felt like there was something seriously * wrong * with John Mulaney’s performance on Seth Meyers.”

Yet wrote another commenter, following the news of Mulaney’s stint in rehab: “He just seemed really gone in this segment and I was very confused, it was strange to see and see him like this, but it makes sense now.”

A source told us that around the time the segment was filmed, Mulaney was ‘crazy’ about substances and this caused serious health concerns. Mulaney’s representative declined to comment.

“It wasn’t so obvious to everyone else that he was struggling, but he’s been a rock to so many other people that everyone knows he needs to get the help he needs.
