Cristinito Hernandez, a character masterfully played by the Cuban actor Alexis Valdes, he broadcasted live via his Facebook account to wish the audience a “Merry Christmas”, in his style.
During the broadcast, Cristinito used the usual wordplay, replacing terms with similar and new meanings and creating very funny ideas. On this occasion he was referring to ‘pointed arrows’, to call Christmas, or ‘Santa Claus and Mom’ in reference to Santa Claus or ‘Santa Claus’, according to the English equivalent.
Alexis Valdés hosted the show until 2012 Your evening tonight (in Miami), where he not only hosted and interviewed art greats, but also catapulted the artistic career of his best character: Cristinito Hernández. Currently, Cristinito presents his humorous cartoons through social networks.
In 2010 Cristinito Hernández released an album together with the prestigious musician, producer and musical director Sergio George. His main hits include “Cucutaca”, “The Rotten Apple”, “The Paper”, “Complain” or “The Thing Comes From Odinga.”
Regarding the collaboration with Sergio George, Alexis Valdés said around those years, “With Sergio by my side, I have no doubt it will be a great transition in my career.”
Cristinito Hernández closed his Christmas greeting with a joke referring to the island’s monetary unification as part of the announced economic measures for 2021:
“A lot of dollars for this Christmas, that the CUC lost confidence in itself!”
