The absence of Mexican clubs in the competitions of Conmebol (Liberators cup and South America), could end in 2022 thanks to a plan that the Mexican Football Association (FMF), and that he hopes it will be properly viewed and approved by all owners of the equipment First Division.
First, the FMF plans to stick to the calendar of the Conmebol, that unlike almost all competitions, it runs both tournaments from January to December, so the League MX, should adapt to the data released by the South American agency.
Taking into account that Concacaf de Femexfut send your best teams to the Champions League, the format they plan to send teams to all leagues is as follows:
- The two champions and runners-up of the Open and close represents Mexico in the Concachampions.
- In the event that a club repeats as champion or runner-up, the places will be taken by the teams with the highest scores in the football year.
- There are three seats for the Copa Libertadores and three more for the Copa Sudamericana.
- The teams with the highest scores in the football year that do not go to Concachampions will receive their ticket for Copa Libertadores.
- The next three with the most runs are those of Liga MX in the Copa Sudamericana.
- The other eight teams participate in the competition that is planned in combination with MLS.
