More Nights on the Town: Sex And The City returns to HBO Max as a limited series without Kim Cattrall, 64, Page Six reported Tuesday; publicity still continues for Sex And The City: The Movie
Aside from Cattrall, Parker is expected to return, as are the other main actresses: Kristin Davis, 55, who plays Charlotte, and Cynthia Nixon, 54, who plays Miranda.
Cattrall’s absence shouldn’t come as a surprise, given that she has said multiple times that she is no longer interested in returning to the franchise.
The original series ran from 1998-2004, and two films followed in 2008 and 2010.

In October 2017, the Filthy Rich actress told Piers Morgan that there would be no third Sex And The City movie with her.
‘Not for me. That was part of turning 60. That was a very clear moment of how many years do I have left and what do I want to do with it? What have I not done? she thought.
She also echoed many fans’ feelings that the franchise was going downhill with its last two films, with the second film singled out for additional criticism.
‘I feel like the show was the best when it was the series and the bonus were the two movies.’

In September 2019, Parker told Entertainment Tonight that she was interested in filming “ some episodes of Sex And The City, ” although she dismisses the term reboot.
“I wouldn’t call it a reboot, I would call it a” revision, “she clarified.
‘I’d love to see where they all are,’ she continued, adding that the characters can cope with all the ways culture has changed since the series finale in 2004.
She thought evolving ‘technology and social media’ could provide fodder for new storylines, while changes in ‘sexual politics’ and the development of ‘the #MeToo movement and Time’s Up’ were worth exploring.
“I think Carrie Bradshaw would just be so greedy to share her feelings and thoughts,” she added.

Parker and Cattrall’s long public feud would make it seemingly impossible for Cattrall to return to the show.
Their biggest conflict came to light in 2018, when Matthew Broderick’s wife shared her condolences with Cattrall in an Instagram response after her brother was reported.
Cattrall was seemingly furious and responded to the comment in a separate post.
“Your constant contact is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now,” she wrote.
Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already), ”she continued. ‘You are not my family. You’re not my friend. ‘

In 2008, The Telegraph reported that Parker was given an executive producer credit (which does not necessarily involve additional duties or creative control) that increased her salary by an additional $ 300,000.
Cattrall then negotiated a higher salary as well, but instead of teaming up or trying to increase all of their salaries, the protagonist was upset about her move and “ didn’t even want to join the [Cattrall] during meals. ‘
When the four actresses were arguing for a third Sex And The City movie, Cattrall was reportedly the one to overturn the deal after they left Warner Bros. she would only appear in it if the studio produced films she had in development, which it declined. To do.
