If you listen quietly at this time of year, you will hear a faint ringing in the wind. It’s not Santa, oh no, it’s Valve’s merry bags that ring with anticipation when a Steam’s Winter Sale kicks off. That’s right folks, the seasonal offers are in: thousands of games will be getting a discount on Steam between now and January 5th. The 5th Annual Steam Awards is also underway, so get your votes while you still can.
Take your festive self to Steam to see all the offerings. As always there is: a lot.
Like last Christmas sales, this year’s Steam Winter Sale will give you Steam Points when you buy games, which you can then use to buy adorable cosmetics to customize your account. In a press release, Valve says the Steam Points program has been updated this year and that there are new season items like animated stickers and avatars to grab.
The Steam Awards 2020 are also in full swing now, so head over to the Steam Awards page to vote for your favorite nominees. You have until January 3rd to get your votes, which will earn you trading cards. Categories this year include “Best Game You Crave”, “Better With Friends”, “Sit Back And Relax Award” and more. They also have Hades for their “Game of the Year”, so you to have to vote for it, of course.
The Steam Winter Sale has now begun and will end on January 5, 2021 at 10 a.m.PT (6 p.m. GMT).
