A tweet sent out last weekend by Dolly Parton’s sister, Stella, in which politicians criticized the coronavirus vaccine, has gone viral, The Hill reported on Sunday.
Stella Parton, a country singer herself, referred to her sister’s donation to support research on Moderna’s coronavirus vaccine, wrote on Twitter that “If a little Hillbilly singer like my big sister Dolly can invest in the vaccine, why can’t some of you old moldy politicians pitch a few million yourself?”
The tweet generated more than 350,000 likes in the past two days and came as congressmen pushed through efforts to negotiate an agreement on coronavirus control legislation, which was finally reached late Sunday.
Stella Parton also spurned politicians who “immediately started getting vaccinated while people starve and die.”
However, The Hill pointed out that some of those in public service did this to instill confidence in the vaccine in the general population, amid fear that it could be harmful.
She also expressed her anger at televangelists in another tweet, write that “I’ve never heard of a televangelist donating a fucking penny to the research fund, but they can certainly weave the herd and try to exorcise demons if they are possessed themselves!”
