President Luis Abinader led the cutting of the ribbon together with the Director of the National Health Service (SNS), Dr. Mario Lama, of the Pedro Emilio de Marchena hospital and primary care diagnostic and clinical center in the municipality of Bonao this Sunday, buildings that can benefit more than 60 thousand people.
The construction of Pedro Emilio de Marchena Hospital, provided by the government to the National Health Service (SNS), will be operational in the coming days after the personnel who will provide assistance to users are trained.
The center has 16 offices, three for pediatrics, three for gynecology and obstetrics, six general, two for dentistry and two for ophthalmology; special areas for tuberculosis and vaccines, in addition to a modern laboratory, imaging area, consisting of 32-slice tomography, mammography, densitometry, ultrasound, echocardiography and an X-ray room.
Likewise, the hospital’s surgical block has two operating rooms and two delivery rooms with the associated pre- and post-operative rooms, antepartum and postpartum rooms.
The executive director of the SNS, Dr. Mario Lama, stressed the importance of starting this center, which is closing an important health gap in this province of the country.
“With the provision of this hospital, residents of Bonao and nearby areas will save time and money on travel when they need health services,” he added.
The center is located on Las Hortensiaslaan, next to the Duarte motorway.
