It is Monday December 21 was declared an official day of mourning for the death of Carmen Quidiello de Bosch, issued by Decree 721-20 by President Luis Abinader.
This presidential mandate was drafted taking into account the fact that, in addition to being a poet and playwright, Quidiello participated as manager of numerous cultural activities, artistic and literary in the country.
The widow of former president Juan Bosch, despite being Cuban, permanently supported the cultural development of the country, according to the considerations of the document.
In addition, she adds that, as Juan Bosch’s wife and partner, she took over his ideas and fought for democracy and the development of the Dominican people; like accompanied him as first lady while Bosch was president of the Republic.
Quidiello de Bosch died at home yesterday morning at the age of 105, leaving a legacy in Dominican society for his work in favor of the country’s social causes.
