Juan Francisco homered for the fourth day in a row, Moisés Sierra, Alfredo Marte and Abiatal Avelino hit homeruns to lead the Gigantes del Cibao to a 10-1 victory over the Toros del Este and tie for third place in the Dominican professional baseball tournament.
Francisco dropped it with two teammates on board in the sixth inning, Sierra, Marte and Avelino reached solo homers who were decisive in the team’s victory led by Luis Urueta.
Dustin Crenshaw claimed the win by working five innings with four hits and one run, while the loser was James Russell by giving up four runs with three homers.
The Giants scored three runs in the first inning on an unstoppable hit by José Sirí, Moisés Sierra hit a two-run homer through the middle and Alfredo Marte followed with another homerun through leftfield.
