Amanda Kloots prepares for the first Christmas without dead husband Nick Cordero

This will be Amanda Kloots’ first Christmas without her late husband Nick Cordero, who tragically died of complications from COVID-19 in July.

With less than a week to go until Christmas Day, the fitness trainer took some time to think about the one and only Christmas the couple could spend with their son.

And she captured the love and joy of the vacation they spent together as a family in a beautiful photo of the Broadway star cradling their now 18-month-old boy, Elvis.

Cordero absolutely beamed with pride and joy in the adorable photo taken about three months before being diagnosed with coronavirus in March 2020.

‘One of my favorite pictures of Nick and Elvis,’ Kloots, 38, shared with heartfelt emotion.

‘This was last Christmas. My family flew to South Carolina and had a very Hallmark-style Christmas at @montagepalmettobluff. ‘

She ended the message by adding, “I’ll never forget it. Hug your loved ones close boys. ‘

‘Don’t let them kill your light, not without a struggle. Live your life. God bless you these holidays. May you have a safe and healthy New Year too! she wrote in the caption.

She ended the message with a direct reference to the fact that it was the first Christmas since Cordero’s death.

“The holidays will be different for us this year, but I think Christmas cards bring joy, happiness and hope. We can all use some of that! ‘

Kloots started setting up her Christmas decorations early on which she documented with a photo of her Christmas tree posted to Instagram on Nov. 10.

She revealed that she and her brother Todd wanted her Los Angeles home to feel festive early on, as she had hoped to visit family in Ohio during the vacation.

“I knew this might be difficult, so I chose to make it happy with my brother,” she admitted of her emotional journey.

‘I decided not to question anything this year. I hung up all the sentimental decorations and all our stockings. Some of it doesn’t make any sense at all, but it’s okay. It’s okay for me now. I think in a strange way it makes me feel like Nick is still around. ‘

During those 25 days, the ladies have come up with a range of fun activities that everyone can do safely at home, all while getting into the holiday spirit.

Just days after the Christmas announcement from the Kloots Sister, the fitness guru shared a photo of father and son sleeping together, with the caption “ A year ago. ” My boys sleep together. I loved finding them like this, all snoozing together. ‘

She went on to say that she was still baffled that some people still believe the COVID-19 pandemic is “a hoax … something that will not happen to them.”

“COVID doesn’t care how old you are or whether you are a new father and husband,” she wrote in direct reference to the loss of Cordero: a husband, father, son and friend.

It has been more than five months since Cordero died after a long battle with complications from COVID-19.

During his struggle for life, the Bullets Over Broadway star suffered from pneumonia, blood clotting problems forced doctors to amputate his right leg and severely damage his lungs, among other extreme health conditions.

Cordero finally died at the age of 41 on July 5 after 95 days in a Los Angeles hospital.
