Apple has rolled out its new iOS app privacy labels (the nutritional equivalent for apps) for both first-party and third-party apps. Apple first introduced its new iOS app privacy details initiative at WWDC in June 2020. Now they are officially live on the App Store for Apple’s apps and third-party software, as well as on Apple’s website for its non-app apps Store (pre-installed apps).

Apple describes the privacy details of its iOS app as nutritional labels on food. Apple’s goal with this initiative is to better educate users about the privacy practices of individual applications. The iOS app privacy labels are divided into three parts:

  • Information used to track you
  • Information associated with you
  • Information that is not linked to you

  • Swipe down below the app description and ratings until you see App privacy
  • Crane See the details to the full privacy details of the iOS app
  • You can also find privacy details on the web for apps. Just search the internet for ‘app store’ app name ‘and you will see the privacy label below the reviews (click on’ View details’ for the full overview)
