Sephiroth explains Final Fantasy 7 Comes to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, much to the delight and surprise of Nintendo fans. Nintendo has the latest addition to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate selection at The Game Awards last week, promising to reveal more about the “One-Winged Angel” in a follow-up video presented by game director Masahiro Sakurai.
Sakurai’s Deep Dive into Sephiroth for Smash Bros. debuts Thursday at 5:00 pm EST / 2:00 pm PST. You can watch it live on YouTube in the video above. Just like the previous one Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter presentations, such as Minecraft‘s Steve and Alex and ArmsMin Min, expect Sakurai to spend 30 minutes or more explaining how Sephiroth will play (and what other content he will bring with him) when he comes to the Nintendo Switch fighting game.
Nintendo says we can also expect a release date for Sephiroth during Thursday’s presentation.
Sephiroth is the third character to be a part of Super Smash Bros. UltimateFighters Pass Vol. 2. All six characters in that pass – plus new stages and music – are released for Ultimate by December 31, 2021, Sakurai said during a Nintendo Direct Mini presentation in January. The first Fighters Pass added Joker from Persona 5, Hero from the Dragon Quest series, Banjo and Kazooie, Terry from Fatal Fury / The King of Fighters, and Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses to Ultimate as paid content.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released on Nintendo Switch in December 2018. It is one of the best games on Nintendo’s handheld console.
