Body cameras show a suspect in the Ahmaud Arbery case describing the shooting with blood on the hands

Recently released camera footage of the body in the Ahmaud Arbery case shows the men accused of murdering him, describing the incident to police in February while they were sad and covered in Arbery’s blood.

“I know, I just want it [a police investigation] “said Travis McMichael to an officer in the video.” It just doesn’t look right. I just shot a man. “

McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and a third husband, neighbor William “Roddie” Bryan Jr. have been charged in connection with Arbery’s death earlier this year.

The men said they had chased Arbery through their Georgia neighborhood before confronting him, because they suspected he broke into homes in the area.

“I’ll grab my .357 magnum – Glynn County PD-issued, by the way – so we’re leaving,” Gregory McMichael tells agents on the video with blood still on his hands. “And stand next to him and yell, ‘Hey, stop, stop, stop, we want to talk to you’, and he just keeps running.”

Bryan tells the officers on the video that he drove off his driveway in an attempt to keep Arbery from leaving the area.

‘Should we have chased him? I don’t know, ”Bryan said to the police.

Travis McMichael eventually shot Arbery in the chest and killed him during the fight.

Arbery’s in-house attorneys have said he went for a jog around the neighborhood when he was targeted by the three men.

No arrests were made in connection with Arbery’s death for months, until video of the incident made by a passerby went viral online.

The McMichaels were arrested on May 7 and Bryan was also arrested two weeks later.

In June, a Georgia grand jury issued charges against all three men of first-degree murder, four charges of felony, two charges of aggravated assault, false incarceration and criminal attempted false incarceration, according to The New York Times.
