Meghan Markle has taken up some of Michelle Obama’s mannerisms in an effort to sound more “ presidential and convincing ” in her trailer and Prince Harry’s new Spotify podcast, a behavior expert claims.
The Duchess of Sussex says ‘my husband’ when she refers to Prince Harry on the recording, in a move reminiscent of the former First Lady who, according to British expert Judi James, often uses the same rhetorical technique.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry sounds ‘less confident’ than his former actress wife.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced yesterday that they will be producing and hosting their own shows as part of the newly formed Archewell Audio – starting with a ‘holiday special’ that will ‘elevate audiences around the world’.

Analyzing the trailer for the Daily Express, Judi said Meghan used “ persuasive ” techniques to convince her husband to take charge as she switched to a “ more professional and semi-presidential episode. ”
Judi said, ‘Meghan shows a hint of her convincing techniques with Harry by using flattery to get him to start recording.’
She added that the Duchess “seemed to purr virtually” after complimenting Prince Harry’s accent, making his voice guttural.
Their trailer opens with the Duke, 36, saying to his wife, ‘Ladies first’ before Meghan says, ‘No, you say it first because I think it sounds really nice with your accent’.
Commenting on the Queen’s grandson during the trailer, Judi said: ‘Harry is a much less confident speaker than Meghan on this audio clip …[but] he would like to do well for his wife. ‘
She points out that he is verbally faltering during his dialogue, but his relaxed tone suggests that listeners are getting a more personal side to the royal family.

Meanwhile, Angela Levin told talkRADIO that the Duchess, 39, was ‘somewhat patronizing and very regal’ on Monday, praising the ‘silent heroes’ of the coronavirus pandemic in a clip shot for CNN (pictured)
Meanwhile, Meghan came across as “ semi-presidential ” and “ professional, ” according to the behavioral expert, who suggested the Duchess bragged about speech techniques used by high-profile figures, such as Michelle Obama and the Queen.
It comes after royal author Angela Levin told talkRADIO that Meghan, 39, was ‘somewhat patronizing and very regal’ on Monday, praising the ‘silent heroes’ of the coronavirus pandemic in a clip shot for CNN.
Judi noted that Meghan’s phrase “One of the things my husband and I have always talked about” sounded the same as the former First Lady’s speeches.
She said, “This is a sudden turnaround away from casual chatty flirting and into a high-status tone where Harry is called ‘my husband’ even though he’s there with her and even though he’s already introduced himself.
“It has the overtones of the phrase ‘My husband and I’ so often used by the Queen.”
The body language and behavior expert isn’t the only one to have noticed Meghan’s new ‘royal tone’, with royal author Angela Levin echoing a similar conclusion earlier this week.

She spoke to talkRADIO about Meghan’s performance on CNN on Monday, as the Duchess praised the “ silent heroes ” of the coronavirus pandemic that communities have supported.
Angela said, ‘[Meghan] tries to be very royal despite the fact that she wanted to come from the royal family. She’s very royal, she talks to us, she’s a little bit patronizing. ‘
The commentator continued, ‘She always uses the term’ we ‘, the royal term we call. That means everyone has to agree with her because she knows what everyone else is thinking. She can say what she likes, of course, but it’s her way of saying it. ‘
Meghan’s appearance on CNN marked the first time the Duchess has been seen since she revealed she had miscarried this summer.

She said in the clip: ‘We saw communities rise and take action. When the children’s lunch programs ended, we saw our neighbors make sure those kids were getting the nutrition they needed. ‘
She added that ‘we as a community showed up’ to provide food that vulnerable people need, adding that ‘we have also seen the power of the human mind’ and that ‘we have the power to remind someone else that there is hope ‘.
She did not address her own loss, but said that 2020 was “ a year that has been universally challenging for everyone, ” before praising those who stood up for the occasion and fed hungry neighbors who were going through hard times.
Meghan had spoken as part of the CNN Heroes series, which praises people who make a difference in communities.
