6 Ways Michigan Residents Can Sign Up for the COVID-19 Vaccine

LANSING, Mich. – The state of Michigan has outlined six ways residents who qualify for the COVID-19 vaccine can sign up to get one.

Michigan officials said residents have varying levels of access to technology, especially those 65 and older. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services offers a variety of vaccine submission options.

“Our goal is to ensure that every eligible Michigander who wants a vaccine gets one,” said MDHHS director Elizabeth Hertel. “We know Michigan residents have different access needs, so we’re working with groups like local health departments, hospitals, pharmacies, and 2-1-1 to provide multiple entry points for signing up for a vaccine.”

First of all, the state encourages residents to visit Michigan.gov/COVIDvaccine for information on who is eligible for the vaccine and to view a list of administration sites.

By going through the list of vaccination sites or through local health departments, residents can find direct contact information for their nearest vaccine supplier.

Residents who do not use the Internet can call the COVID-19 hotline at 888-535-6136.

This hotline is available Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Local health departments and hospitals across Michigan have created application forms, interest forms, and waiting lists based on the appropriateness of the vaccine.

Those health officials will contact residents to schedule appointments as soon as they become available based on vaccine offerings, state officials said.
