413 more COVID-19 cases, nearly 28K more vaccinations reported Saturday in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY – According to the Utah Department of Health, COVID-19 cases in Utah are up 413 on Saturday, with no new deaths and 27,809 more vaccinations.

The moving seven-day average number of positive cases per day now stands at 394, according to the health department. The positive test rate per day for that period, calculated with the “people over people” method, is now 7.6%. The positive test rate per day for that period, calculated with the “test over test” method, is now 3.8%.

There are currently 140 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Utah, state data shows. A total of 1,880,269 vaccine doses have been administered in the state, up from 1,852,460 on Friday.

Saturday’s totals give Utah 392,509 total confirmed cases, with 15,901 total hospitalizations and 2,164 total deaths from the disease.

Utah government Spencer Cox released a COVID-19 pandemic update Thursday at a PBS Utah press conference.
