IRVING, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – A mother and father visited a park in Irving on Friday, February 19, around 5:00 PM.
The couple and their two children were walking through Thomas Jefferson Park in Northwest Irving when the mother slipped and fell through the ice into the pond.

Her husband, who was trying to save her, also fell in.
When first responders got there, an Irving police officer and firefighter also fell into the water.

The mother is in serious condition. The father was not so badly hurt.
Both the officer and firefighter are expected to be fine.
