Report of the shooting was received around midnight on Saturday, and police learned that there was a house party at the location prior to the shooting, said Lieutenant Irving, a Wilmington Police Department officer on duty.
Respondents found seven victims on the spot, three of whom had died, police said. Investigators are still working at the crime scene at 7th Street and Kidder Street trying to identify suspects.
There is no one in custody at this point and no motive, Irving said, adding that the general public is in no danger whatsoever.
The circumstances of the injured victims are currently unknown. The names of the dead will be released once their families and next of kin are notified, police said.
This is a story in development and will be updated as more information becomes available.
