2,946 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kentucky on Tuesday

FRANKFORT, Kentucky (LEX 18) – At his press conference on Tuesday, Governor Andy Beshear announced that 2,946 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kentucky. After removing duplicates, the 2,946 new cases of COVID-19 brings the Kentucky COVID-19 total to 227,818.

“Today’s report, while again higher than we would ever like, is lower than last week’s Tuesday and significantly lower than the Tuesday before when we had more than 4,000 cases,” noted Governor Beshear.

Tuesday’s postivity rate was 8.53%.

Gov. Beshear also announced 15 new coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Kentucky’s coronavirus-related death rate to 2,239.

As of Tuesday, 1,788 Kentuckians have been hospitalized for coronavirus-related reasons, 438 of them in the ICU and 246 on a ventilator.
