Law enforcement officials have opened at least 25 cases of domestic terrorism after riot that broke out at US Capitol building last week during pro-Trump rallies in Washington, DC

Recently, I spoke with Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy about the military response to the January 6 Capitol attack and ongoing security measures.

McCarthy “indicated that (the Department of Defense) is aware of further potential threats from potential terrorists in the days up to inauguration day and is working with local and federal law enforcement officials to coordinate security preparations,” Crow also wrote.
According to Crow’s account of the call, the Department of Defense made “several” attempts to offer National Guard resources to the Washington, DC Metropolitan Police and US Capitol Police before the gang broke into the Capitol on January 6. said no additional resources were needed. ”
The Democratic legislature also said that “due to a lack of coordination and preparation, there was no functioning operations center in the Pentagon to manage the (National Guard’s) presence and allocate additional resources” during the riot.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan told CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday that the Maryland National Guard mobilized quickly after hearing of the Capitol breach, but was unable to get permission to send troops to Washington DC for “some time”.
Governors must get permission from the Ministry of Defense to send troops to the country’s capital.
So our guard mobilized and was done. But we couldn’t really cross the border into DC without the OR. And that was quite a while. We kept him on the flagpole, our generals talked to the generals of the National Guard. And finally I got a call from Ryan McCarthy, the Secretary of the Army, asking if we could come to town. But we were already mobilizing, ”Hogan said.
