248 new COVID-19 cases, no new deaths and 17,268 vaccinations announced on Sunday

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah reports 248 new cases of COVID-19, no new deaths, and 17,268 new vaccinations on Sunday, according to the Utah Department of Health.

The seven-day moving average for positive cases is now 394. The seven-day moving average for percent positivity calculated by the “people over people” method is 7.1%, the health department announced. The seven-day moving average using the “test over test” method is 3.6%.

A total of 1,897,531 vaccine doses were administered in the state, against a total of 1,880,269 the day before.

There are currently 133 Utahns hospitalized for COVID-19, up from 140 hospital admissions on Saturday. A total of 15,910 Utahns have been hospitalized for COVID-19.

Utah conducted 7,396 new tests since Saturday, bringing the total number of tests conducted in the state since the start of the pandemic to 4,475,591. As of Saturday, 4,112 people have been tested for COVID-19, bringing the total number of Utahns tested to 2,490,394.
