2021 New Year’s Babies Born in Chicago Area Hospitals

CHICAGO (WLS) – Hospitals in the Chicago area welcomed the very first babies of 2021 on New Year’s Day.

One of the very first babies of the New Year was Maverick, who was born Friday at 12:01 p.m. at the Advocate Christ Medical Center to the inhabitants of Crete, Kratia and Marlon Franco. Maverick weighs 7 pounds, 6 ounces and is 20 inches long. He is now one of seven brothers and sisters.

Baby Boy Canniff, whose name is not yet known, was born at 12:05 p.m. at Advocate Condell Medical Center to Bridget and John Canniff. They are “excited to start the New Year with a bundle of joy!” It weighs 6 pounds, 11 ounces and is 45 inches long. He has two siblings in Grayslake.

Madelyn Jessica was born at 12:41 p.m. at Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital to Michael and Nicole Woltcheck of Chicago. She weighs 7 pounds, 9 ounces and is 19.5 inches tall.

Baby Girl Gonzalez was born at 1:04 am to Angelica Gonzalez and Andrew Spence at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. She weighs 3 pounds, 3 ounces and is from Mundelein.

Javien was born at 1:08 am as the son of Joseline Cuevas and Jean Rivera of Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. He weighs 6 pounds, 11 ounces and has three siblings in Chicago.

Baby Declyn was born in Sydney and Nicholas Walden from Glenview at 5:28 am. She was born 7 pounds, 5 ounces at NorthShore Evanston Hospital and is the couple’s first child.
