2021 Masters tee times, links: full field, groups, schedule for round 1 at Augusta National

AUGUSTA, Georgia – The first and second round tee times are set for the 2021 Masters. As usual, Augusta National divided the wealth evenly with these trios. There will be intrigue from the first tee on the first of four long, beautiful spring days at the first major championship of 2021.

The Masters’ return to April has been long awaited since the rescheduled event last November went off without a hitch. The 88-man field that will take the course starting Thursday is dotted with stars with nearly all of the best golfers in the world competing. That is clear when we consider the groups prepared by Augusta National for Round 1 action. Check out our full 2021 Masters coverage guide for live viewing information.

The first major group to start are Bubba Watson, Brooks Koepka and Viktor Hovland. Others to follow include really interesting mixes and matches from past champions, amateurs, and current starts. Here are some of the ones that stand out in the pack.

Augusta National doesn’t really do the mega-group thing for the first two days, which is nice if you want to spread your attention throughout the tournament. You get a nice amalgamation of so many different types of players at various stages of their careers and a manageable number of golfers (88) instead of trying to squeeze in 156 before the sun goes down.

My favorite group is probably the one with Spieth, who is my pick to win this week. He and Morikawa are the top two iron players in the world since February 1. Throw in Cameron Smith, who finished in the top five in two of the last three Masters, and it’s a really exciting trio.

Let’s take a look at all 30 groups that start playing at the 85th Masters on Thursday. All times Oriental
