2 persons, service dog exits Delta flight via emergency slide while taxiing at LaGuardia Airport in New York

EAST ELMHURST, Queens – Two people opened a cabin door Monday morning and exited a plane through the emergency slide at LaGuardia Airport in New York.

Delta Airlines Flight 462 was bound for Atlanta and was appraised when the incident occurred.

Delta officials said a group of two opened the door and went out down the slide with a service dog.

The plane then returned to the gate where other passengers departed and were put on alternative flights.

The aircraft was checked by maintenance technicians after the incident before being returned to service.

The passengers were later identified as Antonio Murdock, 31, and Brianna Greco, 23, both from Florida.

Authorities say Murdock claimed post-traumatic stress led him and his female companion to grab their service dog and jump off the emergency slide.

Murdock is charged with second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree reckless behavior and third-degree criminal offense, while Greco is charged with third-degree criminal offense.

The little dog, named Rain, was turned over to Animal Care and Control and expected to be returned to its owner.

Murdock alleged that PTSD was released from prison for a previous robbery due to limited space on the plane.
