15-year-old arrested for BMW bike gang attack in NYC

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the wild Tuesday attack of a BMW driver whose posh car was destroyed by a bicycle gang in broad daylight in Manhattan, the Post has learned.

The Queens teenager – who is not identified as a minor – is being charged as a youth after allegedly assaulting victim Max Torgovnick’s luxury ride on Fifth Avenue, law enforcement sources said Wednesday.

The sources said about 25 motorcyclists were involved, six of which damaged Torgovnick’s car. Police have also identified another teenager and are looking for him, the sources added.

Torgovnick told The Post on Wednesday that he and his mother, who is in their seventies, had just made a donation to a nonprofit and were on their way to his father’s neurology office when they ran into about 50 teenage bikers on Tuesday afternoon.

Video of the poignant attack shows the bikers surrounding the BMW on Fifth Avenue and 21st Street, some hitting the vehicle with their fists and feet and another smashing a bicycle into Torgovnick’s windshield.

One of the attackers then ran into the car and jumped on the hood, causing the windshield to crack and partially collapse, video shows.

“At the time, I was afraid they would break the window, get in the car, grab in and pull us out,” Torgovnick recalls.

His mother was on the phone in a panic shouting, “We’re dying, they’re going to kill us,” said Torgovnick.
